Probe Heads HEXAGON
The probe head forms the heart of every coordinate measuring machine.Combined with aprobe, it generates the measurement data during inspection cycles
SKU: Probe Heads
Description
HEXAGONMI offers the following probe heads:
HH-ACW-43MW
The HH-ACW-43MW continuous wrist is a heavy-duty precision mechanism able to quickly orient the probe to any attitude following precise 3D trajectories. Its speed and motion are continuously controlled by the system controller to reach maximum machine efficiency.
Its ability to orient the probe as needed in space (virtually infinite angular positions) along with the possibility to handle exceptionally long probe extensions, allow full access to the part being measured. The HH-ACW-43MW is also available in the configuration with integrated 3rd continuous axis developed for the optimized use of non-contact sensors.
The HH-ACW-43MW wrist is compatible with both point-to-point touch trigger probes and other traditional probes as well as tool changers and racks, thus, enabling measuring in point-to-point and scanning modes.
HH-A-H2,5/HH-AS-H2.5
The head is fitted with the Heavy duty kinematic joint (HDKJ), which can be connected to a Multiwire to give full multi sensor support. The HDKJ carries extensions of up to 750mm. Laser scanners and scanning heads can be supported further from the axis of rotation than with conventional probe heads due to the combination of extreme rotational torque and the HDKJ adaptor. The HDKJ can be changed either manually without the need for requalification or automatically with the HR-R tool changer fitted with the optional HR-RH Heavy duty module changer.
All of the probe heads in the range benefit from a completely redesigned drive system including a Hirth Gear for accurate positioning of the probe. The new design delivers the advantage of a high degree of indexable positions and very high rotational torque. The HH-A-2.5 can either be mounted on the CMM with a shank or flange, alternatively the HH-AS8-2.5 can be mounted on any CMM with an 80mm ram.HH-A-T2.5/HH-AS-T2.5 Automatic 2.5° Probe Heads
The head is fitted with a kinematic joint (TKJ) which can be connected to a Multiwire to give multi sensor support. The TKJ can be changed either manually without the need for requalification or automatically with the HR-R tool changer.

The HH-MI-M is a probe head with an accurate indexing probe stylus. The HH-MI-M can turn to 168 positions and swivel in 15° increments without the need for recalibration. It can accept all probes and accessories with an M8 connection.
Sensors can be connected to the Probe Head with a kinematic joint (HH-A-T7.5 and HH-AS-T7.5) or a M8 threaded connection (HH-A-M7.5 and HH-AS-M7.5).The Probe Heads are capable of indexing in 7.5° increments and can achieve 720 unique positions.
There are two ways of mounting the probe head to the machine. The HH-A-T7.5 and HH-A-M7.5 are equipped with a shank or flange which is fitting to the machine. The HH-AS-T7.5 and HH-AS-M7.5 can be mounted directly into any machine with an 80mm ram.HH-A/HH-AS Automatic 5º Probe Heads
Sensors can be connected to the Probe Head with a kinematic joint (HH-A-T5 and HH-AS-T5) or a M8 threaded connection (HH-A-M5 and HH-AS-M5).The Probe Heads are capable of indexing in 5° increments and can achieve 3024 unique positions.
